Matt is a registered patent attorney who has drafted and prosecuted patent applications in the consumer product, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology fields. He has also conducted freedom-to-operate, non-infringement, and invalidity analysis on inventions in a variety of technology areas. Additionally, Matt has also handled trademark related matters, and has obtained favorable decisions before both the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Prior to re-joining Hoxie and Associates, Matt served as IP counsel at a global consumer products company. He also has laboratory experience from his time as both a research associate at both Takeda Pharmaceuticals – San Diego, and as a research assistant at Joslin Diabetes Center/Harvard Medical School. Matt is admitted to practice law in New Jersey. He has a B.S. in biology, cum laude, from University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a J.D. from the Rutgers School of Law – Newark.
